Any person who imports, manufactures or sells any food not in compliance with the requirements of the Pesticide Residues in Food Regulation concerning pesticide residues commits an offence and is liable to a maximum fine of $50,000 and to imprisonment for six months upon conviction.

The Centre for Food Safety (CFS) received a notification from the Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF) of the European Commission that the above-mentioned batches of cow's milk cheese were found to have been contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. According to the information provided by the RASFF, the French producer concerned has initiated a recall of the affected products and a small volume of the affected products has been imported into Hong Kong.
CFS finds pesticide residues in three salted fish samples
The Centre for Food Safety (CFS) of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department today (May 22) found three samples of loose-pack salted fish (two croaker samples and one threadfin sample) with pesticide residues.
The CFS collected the three salted fish samples from an importer for testing under its regular Food Surveillance Programme. Test results showed that the samples contained dichlorvos at levels from 0.026 parts per million (ppm) to 0.057 ppm. According to the law, the food concerned should not contain pesticide residues.

Excessive pesticide residues found in tangerine and sweet pepper samples (Food news: 20 May 2015)
The Centre for Food Safety (CFS) of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department today (May 20) found a tangerine sample and a sweet pepper sample with pesticide residues at levels exceeding the legal limits.
"The CFS collected the tangerine and sweet pepper samples for testing at a market fruit stall in Sha Tin and a market vegetable stall in Yau Tong respectively under its regular Food Surveillance Programme. Test results showed that both samples contained profenofos exceeding the legal limits. The tangerine sample was found to contain profenofos at a level of 0.69 parts per million (ppm), i.e. 6.9 times the maximum residue limit (0.1 ppm), whereas the level of sweet pepper sample was 0.91 ppm, i.e. 1.82 times the maximum residue limit (0.5 ppm),"
Excessive pesticide residues found in three spinach samples (Food news : 27 May 2015)
The Centre for Food Safety (CFS) of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department today (May 26) found three spinach samples with pesticide residues at levels exceeding the legal limit.
The CFS collected the three samples for testing from two vegetable stalls in Sheung Shui and Sham Shui Po as well as a supermarket in Sha Tin under its regular Food Surveillance Programme. The test results showed that all samples contained chlorpyrifos exceeding the legal limit. Two of them were found to contain residues of the pesticide at a level of 0.77 parts per million (ppm) while the third one had a level of 0.55 ppm, i.e. 7.7 times and 5.5 times the maximum residue limit (0.1 ppm) respectively

澳門民政總署食品安全中心透過恆常食品檢測中發現一款預先包裝的蜜棗二氧化硫含量未能通過檢測。民署高度關注事件,並呼籲市民應立即停止食用,業界如有售賣受影響批次之產品亦應立即停止出售。
食安中心透過恆常食品市場抽樣監察,於各零售點抽取食品樣本進行檢測,發現一款預先包裝的蜜棗,樣本含百萬分之二千四百的二氧化硫,含量未能通過檢測。
該產品品牌及名稱為正丰蜜棗,每包淨重約三百克,來源地為中國,該批次之最佳食用期限為二○一六年七月三十一日。

The Centre for Food Safety (CFS) of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department today (May 13) announced that a sample of jasmine floral tea was found to contain pesticide residues and urged members of the public not to use the affected batch of the product. The trade should also stop selling the product concerned immediately.
"In mid-April, announcements by the Taiwanese authorities that pesticide residues with levels exceeding their regulatory standards were detected in a number of tea leaf / floral tea samples available in the Taiwan market sparked concern among the public. To address public concern, the CFS, apart from liaising with the Taiwanese authorities over the issue, has immediately enhanced surveillance on tea leaf and floral tea for testing of pesticide residues," a CFS spokesman said.
"The CFS today found a jasmine floral tea sample taken at Kai Fat Tea Company Limited in Sheung Wan to contain Triazophos at a level of 0.41 parts per million (ppm). According to the information provided by the vendor concerned, the import quantity of the affected floral tea was two kilograms, among which one kilogram available for sale in the shop has been removed from shelves acording to the instruction of the CFS. The remaining kilogram has been sold to Coffee Alley, which has also been instructed by the CFS to remove from shelves the affected floral tea," he added.

- The Centre for Food Safety (CFS) received a notification from the RASFF of the European Commission that a batch of PETIT FIANCE DES PYRENEES goat cheese from raw milk was found to have been contaminated with salmonella. For the sake of prudence, the French manufacturer concerned has initiated a recall of the above five kinds of goat cheese from raw milk manufactured between the aforesaid period. According to the information provided by the RASFF, a small volume of the affected products has been imported into Hong Kong. |
The Centre for Food Safety (CFS) of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department today (May 13) found a loofah sample with pesticide residue at a level exceeding the legal limit. The CFS is following up on the case and reminds members of the public to prepare vegetables suitably before consumption, including rinsing and soaking them, to reduce the level of pesticide residues.
"The CFS collected the loofah sample for testing at import level under its regular Food Surveillance Programme. The test result showed that the sample contained cyhalothrin at a level of 0.064 parts per million (ppm), i.e. 1.28 times the maximum residue limit (0.05 ppm)," a CFS spokesman said.

- The Centre for Food Safety (CFS) received a notification from the RASFF of the European Commission earlier on that certain batches of PERAIL raw sheep's milk cheese which were found to have been contaminated withListeria monocytogenes, had been imported into Hong Kong. Acting on information, the Centre has contacted the concerned importer and instructed it to stop selling or using the product and alerted the trade to the incident. Further information was received today from the RASFF that another two Hong Kong importers had imported the concerned product.

民政總署在入口檢驗檢疫時恆常抽檢一批越南製馬友鹹魚,化驗結果檢出含有機磷農藥敵敵畏。由於按規定貨物待檢期間不得出售,故上述全數貨物未有流入市面。民署已即時通知進口商禁止出售有關貨物,同時貨物亦會封存,民署亦已將訊息通報香港有關部門跟進。
民署對一批三月底進口澳門,總重量為一百五十公斤的越南製馬友鹹魚進行入口留置檢驗,在抽取的樣本中檢出含百萬分之零點一五有機磷農藥敵敵畏,該批貨物未有流入本澳市面。

民政總署食品安全中心獲悉一款巨樹牌麻油辣腐乳懷疑受蠟樣芽胞桿菌污染。民署高度關注事件,經初步確認有關產品曾進口本澳,呼籲市民應立即停止食用有關產品。
食安中心透過恆常食品事故監察系統,獲悉一款一百三十克樽裝巨樹牌麻油辣腐乳懷疑受蠟樣芽胞桿菌污染,來源地為中國,該批次之食用最佳期限為二○一七年三月一日。
蠟樣芽胞桿菌普遍存在於環境中,如製作或貯存食品的過程欠缺衛生,可引致該菌繁殖。進食含過量蠟樣芽胞桿菌的食物,可能引致腸胃不適,例如嘔吐及腹瀉。
民署已即時跟進事件,聯絡業界及發佈有關訊息,並派員於市面進行巡查。業界已停售並進行回收工作。民署會持續跟進事件,呼籲已購買或有出售上述產品之市民及業界應立即停止食用及出售。

食安中心透過恆常食品市場抽樣監察,於各零售點抽取樣本進行檢測,發現一款預先包裝的葡萄乾,樣本含百萬分之二千七百的二氧化硫,含量未能通過檢測。該產品名稱為“Raisins Golden Jumbo”,品牌為“Fruits & Nuts Nature's Choice”,分銷商為香港The Natural Tea Company Limited,每包淨重250克,最佳食用期限為2015 年10月31日。
二氧化硫具有漂白和防腐作用,常被廣泛添加於乾果及蜜餞等食品中。根據檢測結果,在正常食用情況下,一般不會對市民健康造成不良影響。然而,二氧化硫可能會對個別有氣喘體質或過敏人士構成健康風險,如誘發氣喘、頭痛或噁心等不適症狀,故有關人士應避免直接食用。
民署對事件作出即時跟進,已聯絡業界要求停售封存問題產品;同時食品安全中心亦已發出食品預警,通知供應商及零售商停售受影響批次的產品,並持續跟進事件,呼籲已購買或有出售上述產品之市民及業界應立即停止食用及出售。
